Petition and bond and other legal steps necessary were filed yesterdsy by attorneys for the railway company. The sppesl roes before the United States Circuit Court of Appeals of the Ninth Circuit, and probably will come before that body lor argument at the May term. Judge Wolverton s form of decree de fined tha timber as a part of the land. The railroad company holds that it was not the opinion of the United States Supreme Court, when it remsnded the esse to the United States District Court or further diapoaitlon. thus making It Judge Wolverton's duty to draw the decree, that the timber now on the railroad grant lands should be forfeit ed, together with the 2,300.000 acres of land in the grant. Indorsing the establishment of normal school in Southern Oregon, the Roseburg commercial and civic bodies have decided to take action in hope of having tho proposed school located in this city.
