a
very cause for seeking this protec
tion. Dion-Insured Termed Gamblers.
When the business man is treading
on shaky ground, when the estate is
in poor shape, when business is slow,
when prospects are gloomy, are the
very times when a man is in need of
the commercial doctor the life under
writer. .
Men who delay the purchase of pro
tection for their estate and for their
family at this time are gamblers of
the first magnitude. They are gam
bling with the lives of their very own.
It is the one time in the course of a
man's life when he should welcome the
life underwriter with open arms, in
stead of declining the interview be
cause of strained financial conditions.
Distressing business conditions are
the germs which invariably bring about
poverty, failure and ruin. It is true
that they cannot always be checked,
but life insurance as an antidote has
no equal.
The man who is ill never waits for
the doctor to caJL He sends for him.
ft should be the same In the case of
the man whose estate or business is
not In good condition. Why not send
for the life underwriter? It should be
the first move of the man whose credit
Is at a low ebb. It should be the first
act of the man who is Interested in the
welfare of his family.
, "Underwriters' Tonic" Advised.
Despite this fact nearly all life In
surance is sold under protest. And
practically all of the policies are writ
ten at a time when the insurant's bank
account is in a flourishing condition,
when the estate is in fair shape and
when he is, generally speaking, enjoy
ing prosperity.
It is because the great majority of
men when In financial trouble, do not
heed tha call of the life underwriter
that humanity is confronted with so
many failures and poverty-stricken
families. A little of the underwriter's
tonic here will do much towards driv
ing away all worry. Yet the very per
sons who need life insurance the moit
are the very persons who will not even
allow an interview upon the subject.
The man who conducts a personal
accounting with himself displays wis
dom. This Bhould be a semi-annual
event in every man's life. He should,
as near as possible, estimate the pres
ent cash value of his estate. If found
insufficient to provide adequate pro
tection for the family he should bor
row, if necessary, the funds with which
to make this provision.
