The last' week has seen social activities heightened by the advent of good weather and Ideal conditions have brought out many parties of hikers. Outdoor enthusiasts have had oppor tunity for mountain climbing, fishing. swimming and boating. The clear, placid waters of the nearby lake at tract many to Its surface, to drift lazily along with the sails half set. or to row vigorously for an hour's exer cise. The fishing is excellent, and many large catches are reported. An interesting side trip is to Beauty Falls. The falls are back from the beach about two. and one-half miles and are situated In the dense forest of huge cedars that cover the slope of the ascending mountalna It Is a favorite mecoa for picnickers, and the rocky1 ravine that escorts the waters of the falls on toward the-ocean Is a sight most wondrous. The Misses Marie Francis, Maud Patchin and Marie L. Aarnes, of Spo kane, Wash., returned home last Mon day after passing six weeks in the Fir Dune cottage. Edward Aylsworth. of Gresham. re turned home last Sunday in his auto mobile. Mrs. Aylsworth, her son and daughter and mother, Mrs. James Law rence, will remain two weeks. Mrs. C. O. McCulloch and Miss Ada Werner, of Portland, arrived last week and are occupying the McCulloch cot tage. Miss Ella Van Leuwin. of Portland, is occupying her Classic Ridge cottage. She has as her guests Miss Frieda Dob ner, of Portland, and Miss Anna De Kruif. of Michigan. Mr. and Mra William Beard, of Port land, and daughter, Mrs. Ellen McLarty, of Oregon City, are at their Summer home here. Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Proctor and daughter, Arletha, of Sandy, and Mrs. N. E.
