"The whole world knows the Portland rose." and yon have before you the picture which will appear on the ends of films run in Portland from now until Rose Festival time. In order to advertise the Festival more thoroughly, the Rose Festival Association conceived the idea of the use of motion pictures. They chose one of the city's most attractive little girls. Miriam Schiller, the fi-year-old lassie of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Schiller, of 167 King street, to pose for them. With the use of the poster, they have made a picture which Is sure to delight Port land folk and interest Eastern people who will see the picture In the weekly pictorials. The pictures will be hand-colored and for that reason It will be two or three weeks before they are released in the city. The Motion Picture Exhibi tors' League will release the films and run them in the local picture houses. The pictures were taken by the Northwest Weekly. Little Miss Schiller is a natural little poser and she made a genuine hit with the photographer and bystanders when the films were made last Friday. About 600 feet were taken.
