Down the ages the glamour of gold has prevailed as powerful
today as when the Queen of Sheba brought precious gifts to

Little wonder that of all Christmas-gifts the well-chosen piece

-Art finds its expression in many ways.

Hidden away in odd corners of Europe are artists
and art workers who give their lives to creating these
beautiful things. Each year our Art Buv-r spends
months in going from studio to studio gathering a
choice piece here or a few pieces there.
These are gathered for your inspection in the Gal

Like a London Shop
A gentleman lately returned from London chanced in our
Washington street entrance and found himself in the men's shop.
When approached and asked if he wished to be served he replied
with an air of astonishment, "Why I'm just back from London
and by a curious coincidence your men's shop is draped with the
identical mufflers, motor scarfs, and sweaters as I saw displayed
in a smart Conduit street haberdashery."
On further investigation he found that the knitted and crochet ties, loung
ing robes all bore the label of Allen & Solly and Welch. Marguetson &
Co., which was identical with those shown in London.
We went further and showed this gentleman English gloves, English
collars, English hosiery and English handkerchiefs.
When through with his tour of inspection he paid us the high com
pliment that London offered no better selection in high-class haberdashery
than shown in our store.
Come tomorrow if you have in mind gifts for men. Nothing is held
in higher esteem or appreciated more by men of good fashion and taste than
English furnishings.
