to bear out his statement. Stephen

returned a verdict of not guilty.

and J. L. llulford for the members of
the Department of Oregon of United
Spanish Wsr Veterans to sttend the an
nual session of the Wsshington Grsnd
Lslr o( the Military Order of the Ser
pent In Vancouver on June 7. The pro
gramme Includea a parade to be held at
Vancouver Barracks.
The Department of Oregon will hold
Its annual session at the Armory June
S. Tha Washington delegates will be
visitors and will participate In the pa
rade of the members of the order of the
serpent to be given thst night a
part of the Rose Festival programme.
In this parade the veterans will carry
the Illuminated likeness of a soaks
between 400 and 600 feet long.
The Washington contingent has char
tered a steamer tn which to make' the
trip to Port. and and will be accom
panied by a band and a fife and drum

ish War Veterans Friday night passed
