THE SUNDAY OREGOXIAN, PORTLAND, ' 3IARCH 12, 19114
A
The only notice of suit started against me by the United States Cashier Company,
that has been served upon me, is the advertisement published in this. morning's Ore
gonian. This fact convinces, me that the alleged action against me is purely an ad-
vertising bluff and typical of the methods which have been adopted by the United States
- ,
Cashier Company in all of its advertising.
At the time the Potter Cashier was delivered to the United States Cashier Com-
. -C -
pany that device was in perfect working order, with the exception of the Adding
Mechanism, and I have the receipts of that company in proof of it. I wanted to com-
plete the adding device before delivery was made, but the United States Cashier
Company absolutely refused to allow me the required time to do so. I have repeat
edly made efforts to get access to the machine for the purpose of perfecting the
adding mechanism, and I have been consistently and persistently refused the oppor
tunity to carry out that part of ,the work.
I stood ready to complete and perfect the adding mechanism of the Potter Cashier
the moment the opportunity had been granted.
... . ''
I do not propose to enter into any newspaper controversy with such a company
as the United States Cashier Company has proved itself to be by the advertising
methods which it has used. I merely ask the people of Portland to watch for the out
come of this interesting development.
