It was an Impromptu match and was

"Well. I'll rive yoj a try. Just for

After 17 minutes of fast, stubborn
work Vance forced O'Connell to quit
with a freak toe hold. O'Connell cried
out In pain and fell back on the mat.
Ills pupils worked with Mm for 10
minutes and It was feared that a llua
nient In Ma ankle had been torn loose.
Tha hold. Vance Insists. Is some
thins; new of Its sort. O'Connell was
wrestling from on top and had a scis
sors and half-Nelson on Vanre when
the latter suddenly caught O'Connell's
foul under his riant !; and drew It
In with a vise-like grip between his
own knees. O'Connell stood the pain
for perhaps two minutes, when he was
forced t give It up. "Cod. that's

O'Connell welched 19 pounds and
Vsnce Ml.
Vance Is highly elated over the vic

all I knew waa arm locks and rolls."
said Vance, "so naturally It pleased me
to show Mm I know something: about

Vance has been Instructing; wrestlers
at the Seattle Athletlo Club over three
years and has kept a careful record of
the results his men have attained on
the mat. His count shows 14 victories
