Mrs. Zeb orah Wilson, S3 years old, one of the 300 women who came around Cape Horn as the famous "cargo of wives for Seattle settlers in 1S66, died at her home here yesterday. The "car.afo of wives" was organized by A. S. Mercer, then president of the Washington Territorial University. He advocated the importation of New Eng land school-teachers to Pugret Sound to make wives for the settlers here. His scheme was indorsed by Governor Andrews, of Massachusetts; Edward Everett Hale and others, and resulted in the chartering of the ship Contlnen tal, in which the voyage was made. Shortly before the Continental sailed from New York, Mrs. Wilson was mar ried to John Wilson, and the couple made the voyage around the Horn to gether.
