official ballots used in Custer and Fre
mont Counties during the general elec
tion held In this state laat Tuesday,
charges have been made that the elec
tion In the two counties was Illegal.
and prominent Republican leadere are
contemplating carrying a protest to tha
Supreme Court of the state.
It Is not the slogan that is alleged
to be fraudulent, but the Intent In
using It. the accusation being made
that it was nothing more or less than
a ruae to catch unwary electors to reg
ister their votes against the dry guber
natorial candidate. Governor Brady,
Republican, or to give the Impression
to "Let the People Kule," on the liquor
question.
In event the contemplated contest la
started and the ballots held to be 11

the successful candidate for Governor,
James 1L Hawley, who waa generally

Fremont County alone gave Hawley

One year, three months and 13 days
after ground was broken, the Federal
Poetoffice waa turned over to Postmaster
WUluun Lochner by the contractors hav
ing been formally approved and accepted
by Inspector B. C Adams, of the Poat
offlce Department today. The first mail
s sent from the new office tonight.

The Congressional appropriation for
tha building waa (65,000 and tile whole
amount has been used In the construc
tion of the building, which Is a beauti
ful edifice and will accommodate the
needs of this city for a long time, even
In ths face of the present rapid growth.
It la constructed of the light gray na
tive building atone and la first class in
Its Interior fittings having all the latest
equipment for the rapid and accurate
handling of mall.
The acceptance of the building haa
been delayed a long time owing to a
number of technical proceedings between
the contractors and the Government,
and tha people are highly gratified that
at last the new postodice Is a reality.
The contractors were the Campbell
Building Company, of Salt Lake City,
and the foreman In charge waa J. E.
Delehanty.

The mortgage covers the railway com
pany's right of way, grade and rolling

to be used for the construction of a
railroad from Youngs River into the tim
ber tract In what Is known as the Klas
kanlne River district. - -
The mortgage consists of 57 printed

40,000,000 feet of timber and about 700
