records for the foreign exports of food
stuffs from Portland.
As Is customary with all charters for
off-shore loading, the option of Puget
Sound is inserted in the charter party
of the Titanla. With receipts far be
low the normal at Tacoma and Seattle
and with a sufficient amount of ton

LONGSHORE LEADER IS HERE
T. V. O'Connor, High Union Official,
on Visit to Portland.
T. V. O'Connor, representing the
grand lodge of the International Long
shoremen's Union, arrived fn Portland
yesterday morning. He spent the great
er part of the day in hearing the com
plaints of the rival factions regarding
the recent controversy between the
unions of the ship liners and riggers.
Mr. O'Connor will remain In Portland
for several days.
Trouble, so far resulting In nothing
serious, has been brewing between
rival factions of the liners for several
months. Lately the longshoremen's
unions of the Pacific took up the case
and decided against a local lining firm
whose employes were operating under
the charter Issued by the Longshore
men's Union of the Pacific. Exporters
stood with the old gang, and workers
under the I. L. A. charter were forced
to quit.
At this stage O'Connor was called
and during the next week will listen to
arguments between rival factions. The

know alcohol la what makes whisky
such a stimulant. The other poisons
that you get In drups are too numerous
to mention. The poisons that are used
most frequently are morphine, cocaine,
mercury, arsenic and potash. Thev
w reck the nerves and stomach and cause
liver, kidney and bowel troubles.
Drugs will kill pain all right
by stupefying the nerves, but
wait until the effect has passed
off; the pain returns worse than
ever. Then you have to take the
drugs again and continue to take
it until nature Is kind enough to
remove the cause of the pain. ,
The only way to cure pain or disease Is to h
ture. Drugs don't do tnat. Nature will cure the
aisease it sne nas tne power. I give her that power;
that's why I am so successful.

cause of the failure or breaking down of some
vital organ. The reason any organ fails to do
its work is because it lacks electricity.
When it is doing its work right the stomach
generates electricity for ' the support -of the
body and Itself. When It is not able to gen
erate this needed force It must have-aid. This
aid is electricity, artificial electricity, as ap
plied by Electro-Vigor.
Electro-Vleor is a relief from the old
system of drugging. It does by natural
means w-hat you expect drugs to do by
unnatural means. Instead of swallow
ing a lot of poisonous drugs, which
wreck the nerves, apply Electro-Vigor
about your body and feel the soothing,
glowing force of electricity penetrating
your vitals, giving health and strength
to every part. . .
Eleotro-VIgor is not an electric
belt. It is a dry cell body battery
and makes its own power.
"I want to tell you that I am per
fectly satisfied with your Electro-Vigor
treatment. I have now
use,i it just thirty days and I
have been relieved of all the pains
and aches which troubled me
greatly: I am gaining strength
feel better in every respect. In view of the fact
that I am seventy-three years of age, I consider that
this improvement realized in such a short time is some
thing remarkable. Yours truly,
"GEORGE W. COX, -Koseburg, Oregon."

I not only cure all nervous ail

treatment that can possibly cure
this disorder permanently. It Is a
system of local treatment entirely
original with me, but is employed
by no other physician other than
myself. This may seem a broad
assertion, but it Is just, as sub
stantial as it is broad. So-called
nerve waste is but a symptom of
local inflammation or congestion,
and a radical cure is merely a
matter of restoring normal condi
tions throughout the organic sys

Scientific Treatment
My success has come as a reward of
ability and honest, earnest and scientific
application of thorough understanding.
Original Methods
I depend upon nobody theories, but
treat my patients in the light of
my own knowledge and experience.
There is not another physician or specialist anywhere who treats
men's ailments as I treat them. This is a fact that should be duly consid
ered by those who have repeatedly been disappointed in their efforts to
obtain a cure. In no other branch of practice has medical science so
lagged and the forms of treatment now commonly employed among the
profession are largely based upon theories that have been handed down
through generations of doctors. An evidence of this is the prevalent in
ability to successfully cope with several of those ailments peculiar to men.
I have learned Nature's laws applying to their cause and 'cure.
Through this knowledge I have perfected forms of treatment wholly orig
inal and distinctive. Every requirement for a thorough cure is "scientif
ically met, and as a result I am able to completely master cases commonly
regarded as incurable. I especially invite those who have been long af
flicted to cbnsult me. My successs in curing difficult cases has brought
my marvelous growth of practice and made me the foremost specialist
treating men's ailments.

CONTRACTED AILMENTS.
Every case of contracted ail
ment I treat is thoroughly cured;
mv patients have no relapses.
When I pronounce a case cured
there is not a particle of infection
or inflammation remaining, and
there is not the slightest danger
that the disease will return in its
original form or work its way
into the general system. No con
tracted disorder is so trivial as
to warrant uncertain methods of
treatment, and I especially solicit
those cases that other doctors
have been unable to cure.
