I I frora Portlands owners of paint - ings for the loan exhibit, which Is to continue through the Summer at the Museum of Art. At this time the lanvasseg. water colors and pastels, hung in three spacious exhibit halls, reach a total of close to 200, and fur ther valuable donations are being made dally. Many schools are represented and there is as fine a variety of works as could he found anywhere outside one of the big galleries. Scores of the bet ter painters ot the various modern schools are represented, with here and. there a master's work. Notable In the list are paintings by Turner. Corot, ualnsborough. Duprey. PaubigTiy. Cuip. Glorgrione and Montlcelll. and of the Americans. Innes. Brush and Chase. Modern Americans' works predomi nate In the collection. There are end less admirable canvasses in portraits landscape and still-life. The paintings have been hung according to general effect and without any attempt at seg regation of schools. This was found necessary on account of the great va riety of the works tendered and the failure of any particular school of ar tists to materialize In numbers auffi- Uniform taste and good judgment has been displayed in the arrangement of the exhibits. Next to the exhibit at the Lewis and Clark Exposition gallery, the loan ex hibit will be the most pretentious that lias occurred in Portland. Owner of private galleries have surrendered their choicest possessions In order to make the exhibit a success. Many pri vate galleries are given nearly in tact. There is no way of definitely stating the value represented, by the collection, but It Is safe to say an expenditure of no less than $500,000 is represented. The getting together of the exhibits and the plans for the Summer's loan exhibit have devolved upon the trus tees of the . Portland Art Association. William M. Ladd. W. B. Ayer, Miss Henrietta E. Falling, Holt C. Wilson, George Good, C. E. S. Wood and T. L. Eliot. Here is the list of those who have loaned paintings: H. H. Failing. I. N. Flelschner. Miss Flanders. Dr. W. Jones, C. E. Ladd. Muddy, sallow complexions, eruptions, pimples, etc., show that the blood is infected with unhealthy humors which have changed It from a pure, fresh stream to a sour, acrid fluid, which forces out its Impurities through the pores and glands of the skin. A very common evi dence ot bad blood is sores and ulcers, which break out on the flesh, often from a very insignificant bruise, or even scratch or abrasion. If the blood was healthy the place would heal at once; but being infected with impurities which are discharged into the wound, irritation and inflammation are set up, the fibres and tissues are broken, and the sore continues until the blood is purified of the cause. S. S. S. is Nature's blood-purifier and tonic, made entirely from roots, herbs and barks. It goes down into the circula tion and removes every particlo of impurity, humor or poison, restores lost vitality, and steadily tones up the entire system. S. S. S. neutralizes any excess of acid in the blood, making it pure, fresh and healthy, and perma nently cures Eczema, Aone, Tetter, Salt Rheum, Boils, and all other iht eruption or disease.
