tees of the Oregon State Insane Asylum
hereby invites sealed proposals for fur
nishing the following supplies to that
Institution lor the six months ending De
cember 31. 19U!: DRY GOODS. GRO
CERIES, HARDWARE, PLUMBING, TIN
NING, FURNITURE. SHOES, CLOTHING,
MEATS, and FISH, LEATHER and FIND
INGS. CROCKERY and GLASSWAR E.
FLOUR and MILL FEED, STATIONERY
and DRUGS. Lists of said supplies will
be furnished by the clerk of the board
upon application. Samples can be seen
at the Asylum and goods must be in ac
cordance therewith. Where samples are
required and not furnished by bidders, the
articles must be equal to samples at the
Asylum, and the bids will be assumed
to have been made on basis of samples.
All goods must be in strict accordance
with sample in original packages if pos
sible and delivered at the Insane Asylum
; within 20 days after contract is awarded.
Bids must be in blank form, which will
be furnished together with instructions to
bidders by the clerk, upon application.
Each bid on flour or meat must be ac
companied by a certified check for $300.
and each bid on fish by a certified check
of ft, and ail other bids by certified
checks equal to 10 per cent of the amount
of the bid; checks of unsuccessful bidders
will be returned Immediately ; and those
accepted when the contract-is completed.
Bids must be enclosed in sealed envelopes
and directed to the undersigned, and
plainly marked on the outside, Hids for
Asylum Supplies," and the class of goods
should also be inscribed on the envelope.
Price, fitness and quality being equal,
preference will be given to articles manu
factured, grown or produced in this state.
When a particular article Is specifically

facture, or brand equally as good will ba
entertained, but to insure recognition of
such bids, samples of the articles it Is
proposed to supply must accompany them.
The Board of Trustees reserves the right
to reject any or all bids, or to accept
or reject any part of a bid. Bids will
be opened at the executive chambers, in
the state capitol, at Salem, Oregon, at 3
P. M., on Tuesday, July tt, 19t9.
Auditing officers are hereby prohibited
from confirming accounts of purchasers
which do not comply with section 24rt-
chapter x, title xxiv. of Bellinger and
Cottnn's Annotated Code and Statutes of
Oregon.
