At a mass meftlnfr held Friday night In Woodlawn Methodist Episcopal Church, patrons of the Woodlawn school entered a vigorous protest apatnst further use of the old si-hool building, which within the past year has been successively condemned by the building Inspector, the Are marshal and the health department. Some six years ago the half of a new building was erected for the use of the district and the old one moved aside as a. reserve for emergency purposes. By reason of the rapid growth of Woodlawn as a resi dence district It has accommodated the overflow from the new building from the beginning, and having become unsafe and unsanitary, clt:zens are protesting loudly against the action of the 'Board of Educa tion in spending money for repairs on the old structure instead of providing for the completion of the new. A committee headed by Councilman Vaughn will wait on the Board and present a plea for safe and sanitary provision for the school children of the community, and another meeting Is called for Wednesday eve ning, June 9, to receive the report of the committee and consider further action.
