RfV. Aura Smith.
Rev. Aura Smith, the noted
Hoosier evangelist, of Evans
ville, Ind., who conducted the
big campmeeting at Tremont
Station last month, is again in
Portland to begin evangelistic
services- at Trinity. Methodist
Church, corner East Tenth and
East Sherman streets. The ini
tial service was held on Thurs--day
evening and great interest
was manifested. Rev. Mr. Smith
is known as "the sledge hammer
preacher," because of his fear
lessness in presenting the "old
time religion in the old-time
way." This, together with- cer
tain peculiarities of personality,
has the effect of drawing great
crowds to hear him.
