Jacob 'Whltmore Placed Under Ar
rest at Hlllsboro.
HILLSBORO. Or.. Aug. 15. (Special.)
Jacob Whltmore was arrested late last
night by Sheriff Hancock, on a charge of
threatening to kill his wife.
Whltmore is a reliable citizen when not
in his cups, but when drinking becomes
violent. He is on the blacklist in this city
and can get no liquor. Yesterday he went
to Cornelius and became intoxicated, and
came home and started a "rough house."
He may be released upon promise of re
forming. '
