The management, however, made such
a strong bid for the Damrosch organi

the extreme difficulties attendant upon
the moving of so many men were re
duced to nothing In the way of an ob-

Monahan, the phenomenal skater, and all
the others.
Next week, beginning Monday, another
all-star aggregation will occupy the
boards. The programme will be found
to contain nine numbers, and assurance
can be given that there will be no lagging
of interest. In some respects the new
show Is superior to the one Just drawing
to a close. There will be two features,
the most noteworthy, being the appear
unco of Frederick Makmtiri, the cele
brated violinist. Makmiiri was billed for
two weeks ago, but was suddenly taken
ill. thus being unable to appear until
this time.. H is a player of rare ability,
rut invariably causes a liberal flow of
tars from those affected by the music
of a master hand. It is a musical treat
not to be overlooked.
Carter and Waters in the new and merry
comedy, "The Wise Mr. Conn," is the
other feature, and It Is a worthy one,
the cast being composed of competent
people. There is many a hearty laugh In
the act.
Axtell and Heinee have a novel cbmedy
turn known as the "India Rubber Man
and His Acrobatic Dogs." It is another
vaudeville treat. Pauley and Healey in
"My Friend From India." This Is the
first time he lias been seen here since
he was 'a star at th Marquam. Per
kins is an original comedian who Is In
a class of his own.
"Too Many Darlings" ! a lively com
edy which will be offered by those
purveyors of fun, Gardner and Mad
dern. Their act is so clever and amus
ing that it will be the special added
attraction. Katherlne Nugent will pre
sent a singing and comedy number.
Miss Nugent was the original Flora
Wiggins in "The College Widow," and
when she was here at the Hellig she
was one of the especial hits of the
performance. Miss Nugent Is a rare
comedienne and her specialty is re
ported as being a very humorous
affair.
Golden and Hughes are a brace of
comedy boomers and will have as their I
vehicle "f-lsereta's Visit to the City,
in this the young woman will have a
sort of Sis Hopkins part, in which she
Is considered the rival of Rose Mel
ville. The only and original Trolley
Car Trio of eccentric acrobats will be
on the list of many features. This is
of the Bella Poule, and afterwards rose
to the rank 'of captain in the merchant
marine, and had retired years ago, when
he went to reside at Toulon.
