Madame Norelli, who is appearing in Italian grand opera, is at
tracting much favorable attention in St. Louis, where, at the Garrick
Theater, the Portland singer is appearing as Gilda in "IZigoletto." The
St. Louis Globe-Democrat has the following to say: "Madame Norel
li's voice is a delight. It is possessed of the peculiar limpid quality
so well adapted to the singing of such roles as the unfortunate
heroine of the Verdi opera. Madame Norelli not only sings the part
well, but she also acts with the lack of self - consciousness seldom
found !n an artist so well equipped vocally."
