Spring Modes Women's Suits
We direct attention to an astonishingly
complete display of Women's Tailored and
Street Costumes in Spring styles. Suits
that are distinctly different. Many decided
and tasteful novelties are being shown, one
of the most pronounced being fancy linings
in plain colored suits. Butterfly sleeves
and backs are decidedly prominent in this
showing and will be much in evidence
among well-dressed women for the coming
season. Plain colors and subdued stripe
effects are shown. The sleeves come in half
and three-quarter lengths. Fancy buttons,
Persian and Military braid form pleasing
combinations in trimming. Several models
in smart coats, are made in the vest effect,
having border of white pique under an
inner lapel. Materials are panama, chiffon
broadcloth and silk. Lightweight fabrics
have the call. Extremely mannish Suits
are in quiet novelty eff ects, short jacket and
skirt made plain. These are strictly tailored
styles and very desirable. . The more elab
orate costumes are mostly in plain colored
fabrics.. There is a wealth of choosing in
shades and colorings browns,1 blues and
grays, however, lead. 'Twill be well worth
your while to have a peep at our windows
today, and if you would know exactly what the' correct modes in ready
made apparel will be, see them , at Portland's largest and best style
salons. Try on a suit you will not be urged to buy. '
Oriental Silk s smart Spring Gowns
The rough "nub" weaves are the correct silken fabrics for this season's
use. Continued demand for this style has .brought' out a large number of
Various weaves, and more patterns and designs this season than any that
has preceded it.
When we speak of Oriental silks, most people think of the plain colored
pongees and Rajah silks. But these are only two of the many styles to he
chosen from this season.
We are showing- eight other weaves, and every one of them is distinctly
different.
There are plain colors all the good ones polka dots and stripes in
contrasting or self colors.
Among the Oriental weaves we recommend are :
TUSSORAH SILK. . RAJAH SILK.
RACARRAH SILK. TUSCAN SILK.
MANDARIN SILK. KUHLA SILK.
SHANTUNG SILK. PONGEE SILKS,
SONG-O'-SILK. PLAIN OR FANCY.
WOOL CH ALLIES FOR SPRING
For the construction of pretty house gowns, and for charming lightweight
dresses, these challies will please, immensely. See the large number of
designs and note the low prices. I '
