Booming Price of Double-Eagles. NEW YORK, Dec 14. The fact that the new $30 gold pieces are very scarce and that collectors are already paying a large premium for them has started a rumor among the young men of Wall street that there is more than $20 worth of gold in the coins'. For that reason there Is a scramble to obtain the new coins. Only a small number were sent to the sub treasury In New York, and they were quickly bought up by collectors. As high as $28 is being offered for the coins. When the next issue is made there will be sev eral changes in the coins, and this has made the demand from collectors and dealers.
