A spe cial car carried a largo number of Arti san" from Portland to Gresham Friday night to Join with others from Lents, Rcckwood and Troutdale "with their Gresham fraternal brothers In conferring degrees and holding a reunion. The de grees were given In the Oddfellows' Hall, which was taxed to Its utmost capacity, and the goat was somewhat restricted In his movements. Lent, of Portland, responded. Okegon Camera Ciajb Exhibit. By reason of an unavoidable delay, the pho tographic exhibit of the Oregon Camera Club has been postponed one week and will be opened to the public Monday evening, November 27, and will continue afternoons from 2 to 6 o'clock and even ings from S to 10 o'clock, including Thanksgiving Day, closing Saturday night, December 1, at 10 o'clock. The exhibit will be larger by reason of the postponement, as It has enabled more members to present pictures. This Is the Eleventh Annual Print Exhibit of the elub, and will excel by far all the prc vlous ones in excellence of work and va riety of subjects. Although the club and the members are put to considerable ex pense in giving these annual exhibitions, no admission Is charged. Rev. S. E. Debois Arrives. Rev. S. E. Debois, who has been appointed pastor of the United Presbyterian Church, Grand avenue and "Wasco street, has arrived with his family, and will enter on his work at that church this morning. Rev. Debois comes from St. Louis, Mo., where hi had been pastor of the First United Presbyterian Church, and was appoint ed to the Portland church by the Home Missionary Board of Pittsburg, Pa. He has a wife and two children, and comes highly recommended. Rev. Mr. Dobols will occupy the manse adjoining the ihurch as soon as his household -goods arrive from St. Louis. To Pave East Burnbide Street. a petition for the improvement of East Burnside street between Union avenuo and East Eighth street, and possibly to East Tenth, with bltullthic pavement has been circulated. The plank pavement, between Union avenue and East Eighth street is nearly worn out and Is badly broken up. Between Union avenue and Burnside bridge the, approach to the street was planked the first of the year, and will remain until It is worn out, when it will be paved. Peter Ntdstrom Found. "Word has been received that Potor Nydstrom, of Gates, who disappeared two weeks ago near the headwaters of the Clackamas River, has Just been found. He was dis covered by some hunters as he was wan dering about In a dazed condition, ex posed to the rains and cold weather, and returned to his home. A county horticultural society will be organized for Multnomah Counts' at Gresham next Thursday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. James Reld, County Fruit Inspector, with the assistance of Dr. James WIthycombe, of the Oregon Agri cultural Society, and E. L. Smith, of Hood River, will effect this organization. The object is to promote the cultivation and care of better fruit, and It is thought organization of the farmers than by any other way. A president, secretary nnd I vice-president will bo elected. The vice presidents will represent the various pre cincts of the county so as to distribute the interest as widely as posdblc. Mr. Reld and those associated with him are anxious that there should be as large an attendance from the farming district around Grosham as possible, ho that an effective society can be formed. Fraley, for seven years with one of the largest wholesale millinery houses on the Coast and later for two yoars buyer of millinery for one of Portland's foremost department stores, has returned to tlie millinery business. He has bought the Becker establishment, corner Third and Salmon streets, retaining in his omploy the Becker salesladies, trimmers and en tire workroom force. The business is being conducted on the same principles as formerly except perhaps with greater effort catering to the same critical pa trons with always a large assortment of correct things at popular prices. Milwaukiu's Finances. At the last meeting of the Mllwaukle Council Mayor William Schlndlor read the following finan cial report for the closing year: Income from all sourcos, 51413.42; disbursements, J4S1.1S expenses, two lota for city lmll $250, total J73L1S; balance in the treas ury, November 6, 5CS8.24. A considerable portion of the expense went for fire ap paratus and an appropriation for .street repairs. Probably the city building will be erected during the next fiscal year, which will begin Docember, 1905. At that time there will be a new set of officers, except the Mayor and vone Councilman, who hold over. Entertain Their Friends.
