Mr. and Mrs.' William A. Hogg enter
tained a party of about 63 friends at their
home,' 1199 East Taylor street, on Thurs
day evening, the occasion being the 25th
anniversary of their marriage. The re
freshment fables were presided over by
four young ladles, the Misses Elsie Lea
inan, Anna Mathieson, Alice McKlnley
and Daisy Thomas. Cards were played,
and .several very pleasing selections of
music were rendered during the evening
by Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Hoeber, with cor
net and piano, and by Miss Bessie Green
berg, violinist.
The new whist club, of which the mem
bers are Dr. and Mrs. J. A. Lyman, Dr.
and Mrs. H. C. Fenton, Mr. and Mrs. F.
E. Dooly, Mr. and Mrs. Wi C. Duniway.
Dr. and Mrs. J. F. Drake and Mr. and
Mrs. C. H. Gilbert, will meet tomorrow
(Monday) evening at the residence of Mr.

Mrs. Judson H. Carter has returned
from a visit of several weeks to her old
homo at Council Bluffs, bringing with

Mr, and Mrs. George M. Miller left on
Wednesday for San Francisco. They will
visit Mr. Miller's brother, Joaquin Miller,
at his home in the Oakland Hills.
Mrs. W. S. Kinney and family and Miss

visiting friends and relatives in this city,
left Tuesday for California., She expects
to leave for Manila, with her husband, in
a few weeks. Mrs. Westdahl was accom
panied to California by her mother, Mrs.

A card entertainment was given at the
