ments, Costumes and Millinery should have been shown to the
Portland Public under most brilliant circumstances and surroundings
many days -ago. Instead of that, with our building dismantled and
flooded, we were glad to find a place of refuge for those dainty, ele
gant creations in Holman's wardjouses. All our early Spring plans

the last to show ourBHHJKmplete line of novelties. We
labor under a great disadvantage. We will not in fact, cannot afford
to carry over these novelties until next Spring.
We cannot expect any right-minded person to rush in and help
us. to speedily, get rid of these delayed novelties unless they do so at
a most decided advantage to themselves. We expect to win a - .bril
liant battle with our novelties. We' will at least make a: successful
retreat.
