TRACEY WINS FIGHT
Gets Decision Over Reilly a
End of 20 Rounds.
TOO CLEVER FOR HIS OPPONENT
Seattle Mill Is an Unsatisfactory One
and Both Men Are on. Their
Feet and Strong: at "the
Finish. 0 -v.
SEATTLE, Wash., Aug. 16. Tracey -feot
the decision from Tommy Hellly' after 20
rounds or nglitlnsr tonight. Kellly did
most of the leading, but Tracey ivas too
clever for him, running around the ring
-when the pace got too hot The fight
was an unsatisfactory one, "and many
xnouent the -tyorst Reilly could set was
a draw, as "both men -were on their feet
and strong at the finish. There was not
a marie on either man, and at no time in
the light Teas either in distress. Tracey
knocked Reilly down In the 10th, and drew
first blood,, but Reilly rushed Tracey clear
across xne ring a number of times and
pushed him half through the ropes. There
was a fierce mix-up In the ring after
itexeree Monaoan gave the fight to Tracey,
but the police jumped in and Quelled the
turmoil in short order. Tracey played for
me decision from the start of the fight,
tut Reilly was young and strong and
wanted to get a knock-out. That he did
not was because of Tracey's remarkable
cleverness, and footwork carried him out
of danger, add he carefully avoided mixing
it iritn the younger and stronger man.
Young Fredericks woa from the Kirby
Kid in the preliminary by a knock-out In
tne fourth round.

THE DAY'S RACES.
6killf ul Wins the United States Hotel
Stakes at Saratoga.
SARATOGA, X. Y.f Aug. 16. Skillful
upset all calculations by winning the $10,
000 United States Hotel stakes from a
first-class field today. Skillful was a
2-year-old until his victory today, and
bo small was his chance of winning con
sidered that he was quoted at 20 to 1.
His owner, Charles Ellison, had a good
eized bet on him, winning $16,000 In wagers
In addition to the purse. The field num
bered 13. Athel, on the strength of a very
'tfast trial, was favorite for the race, with
"Wnltechapel second choice. The "Western
lllly, Judith Campbell, Aceful and Max
nice, an added starter, were all well
played. Judith Campbell, followed 6y
Skillful and Athel, cut out the running,
with the others two lengths away. This
"was the order to the stretch, where Ju-
Clth Campbell fell back beaten; and
juiwoou. joined tne leaders. A
wnving nnisn ensued, witn Skillful just
lasting long enough to win by a head
from Athel, who was an open length in
sfront of Charles Elwood. Athel pulled up
lame. Aceful was thrown Into the fence
