W(pWIP'li&Wf If JH 1 ROM a modest beginning "down on First street," ! ipnaU'r the present mammoth establishment of Ellera Piano House, of Port land, Or., and Spokane, Wash., has come into existence. After a period of nearly three years of un interrupted progress, this institution is recognized today as the leading, largest and most responsible piano and organ concern in the Pacific Northwest. What a struggle it seemed at first for the "little First-street store" to gain rec ognition! Never an enterprise was started in the United States that encoun tered the downright opposition that was accorded this one by the then existing dealers. Rather slowly at first, then at a quicker pace, the new store pushed Its way to the front Soon the old store became too small, warehouse facilities inadequate, and then arrangements for the beautiful new building at the corner of "Park and "Washington streets were made. Exactly a year ago the firm moved Into the spacious new quarters at the present address. Then the branch house at Spokane, Wash., was established, and under the able management of MrG. A. Heldlnger, one of Portland's most able and best known piano men, the Spokane branch has made most rapid progress, and it ranks today as first in importance of all Eastern Washington houses. "Old-timers" who recall Coast booms have looked with amazement upon this gigantic progress, and in view of the going to pieces of nearly every one of the former competitors of Ellers Piano House, this success has been the talk of the town. No music firm has ever achieved the enormous increase of busi ness and gained such widespread popu larity as has Ellers Piano House. Yet there is nothing phenomenal about this record. Every member of this concern brought Into the business a thoroagh knowledge of music trade affairs, down to the smallest detail. The public finds here the very best makes of pianos they find here the very best makes ror the least money, and they find prompt and careful and painstaking attention to every want They find our stores busy, hustling and enterprising places to trade at, with fa cilities equaled by none in the West Our earnings do not have to be divided up with bankers and note-shavers. We do' not have to pay jobbers or wholesale profits to San Francisco houses. There IP are no Idle drones In this house for whose support some concerns are com pelled to add considerable to the sell ing price of their goods. We have our own delivery teams. Our store rent-is less than is any other dealer's. Our freights are less. In short, every item of expense that enters Into the cost of selling fine pianos and organs you will find reduced to the very lowest limits In Eilers Piano House. And for these reasons, quality considered, we can afford to sell for less than can any other dealer or agent The growth of our business is limited only by the number of people who in vestigate the advantages we have to of fer. To examine them carefully means to become an Ellers Piano House cus tomer. We sell pianos that will please you, and that will also bring our friends here when they are ready to buy. And while firms have come and firms have gone, you have the reasonable as surance that Eilers Piano House will always be found here to make good every obligation and promise. Our customers are our references- It would take two Oregonlan pages to name them all. We therefore enumerate a few of them, probably a thousand, and will cheerfully furnish the remaining two thousand five hundred, together with hundreds of voluntary testimonial let ters, to any one interested.
