THE StJNDAT 0R$G0KIA2ff, PGRTLAISD, 'AUGUST 19, 1900. 15 "Well He Knows Her. Her trays are many as the season's moods, 2Cow ear -then silent, dreaming with her eyes Fixed dees upon tho distance; then aflame 1th, raptnre o'er pome newfound forest flower, Again -wth dew ot tearful sho-nrers o'erswept She draws her white brow In a Bloom of frowns . And pensive, ponders on tho ways of men,' The while she sits apart as If to taaks Tho distance eloquent with her roproach TTntil the rlelnc wreaths of my clear Seem clouds that keep me ever from the light, Th sunshine of her smile. Ah. then I know Tla. time f signal for tho ralnbows birth And with rare taotf ulness 1 touch aipon The subject of new gowns and other hats And things to meet the needs of Summertime, And cuestion delicately of hor bills, Accounts lone drawn, allowance over spent. And hint at the suggestion that checked JiHght.otU the sorrows that her soul oppress? Then have you over teen the rosy dawn Break through gray mists and gather up the dew. Gemming Us plnkness with a dlamond'3 spark? So In her tcar-ii ct eyes there leaps a gleam, A smile breaks on her lips as though a roee Burst into blossom In warm Summer rain. And through smoke wreaths, Joy's very self she moves. Timing her steps to choirs invisible, And itesttes like a bird upon my knee. The vMIe her arms make place for me; And thus enthroned, encrowned and doubly blest. She whispers benedictions in my ear. And teHs me this "her highest meet of praise That I am Just too sweet for anything! "The Matinee Girl," In Dramatic Mirror.
