The Broadway Revival of the legendary musical “Miss Saigon,” a smash hit in London, Broadway
and across the UK, launches a new season for Broadway in Portland. It will play Keller Auditorium
Tuesday, Nov. 5 through Saturday, Nov. 10.
Musical ‘Miss Saigon’ Tours
Broadway in Portland opens
a new season with “Miss Saigon”
playing Tuesday, Nov. 5 though Sat-
urday, Nov. 10 at Keller auditorium.
The Broadway Revival of the
legendary musical tells the story of
a young Vietnamese woman named
Kim, who is orphaned by war and
forced to work in a bar run by a no-
torious character known as the En-
gineer. There she meets and falls in
love with an American G.I. named
Chris, but they are torn apart by the
fall of Saigon.
Kim goes on an epic three year
journey of survival to find her way
back to Chris, who has no idea he’s
fathered a son. The new production
features a sensational cast of 42 per-
forming the soaring score, includ-
ing Broadway hits like “The Heat is
On in Saigon,” “The Movie in My
Mind,” “Last Night of the World”
and “American Dream.”
Concert Supports Immigrant Families
A musical benefit for Immi-
grant Families Together, a non-
profit dedicated to reuniting and
supporting immigrant families
separated at the border, will
be held at 6 p.m. on Nov. 10 at
Augustana Lutheran Church, a
diverse congregation located at
2710 N.E. 14th Ave.
Vocalist Marilyn Keller will
perform with the Ezra Weiss Big Marilyn Keller
Band along with about a dozen
other performers. Suggested dona-
tions are $20, with a sliding scale,
but “no one will be turned away,”
according to Weiss. He said that
100 percent of the proceeds will
go to immigrant families in crisis.
“Please join us for some super
fun music and help us raise mon-
ey for this worthy cause,” Weiss
said.
