Swiggle Mandela
Best of Portland Hip Hop
Thirteen Portland-based hip
hop artists will come together on
Friday, Aug. 30 for a hip hop show
highlighting a group of Portland’s
most prominent rap performers.
The “Prominence 2” show at
the Bit House Saloon, 727 S.E.
Grand Ave., is organized by Port-
land musician and rapper Swiggle
Mandela and will include a per-
formance by Cool Nutz, the Rose
City’s most well-known hip hop
figure for over 20 years.
In June, Mandela, Cool Nutz
and another Portland-based rap-
per, Figure 8, released the song
“Busy Busy Busy,” just before
the first iteration of ‘Prominence,’
Cool Nutz
which included Mic Capes, anoth-
er Portland hip hop star.
The upcoming show will in-
clude performances by Bocha, RC
Spitta, Sour Deez, CEG, Timmi
HendriXXX, Jasey Cordeta, Jetes,
Avery, Figure 8, Ellisinthe810 and
Caleb Wildcard.
Roudy Blues- Rocking Band
Gospel-trained powerhouse A.J. Haynes fronts The
Seratones, a rowdy blues-rocking band from Shreveport,
Louisiana, making a concert date in southeast Portland
on Sunday, Sept. 1 at the Bunk Bar.
