Holiday Meals for Veterans
Members of the Active and Reserve National Guard and American Military
Encouragement Network volunteer to distribute holiday food donations from the
Sunshine Division warehouse in north Portland Tuesday. Thanks to Safeway and
other contributors, 500 military and veteran families and 1,200 additional families
in Portland and throughout Oregon are benefitting from holiday meal packages from
the Sunshine Division, the Police Bureau’s nonprofit charity.

erational ties to north and north-
east Portland who were displaced
or at-risk of displacement due to
past city actions related to urban
renewal areas.
Forty-one of the 50 units pro-
posed for the Proud Ground con-
dos project would be permanent-
ly affordable, family-sized units
serving a range of 35 percent to
100 percent of area median in-
come or between $26,245 and
$74,700 annual household in-
come for a family of four.
Plans call for the project to be
developed in partnership with
Habitat for Humanity Portland/
Metro East, and a community
based development team: Car-
leton Hart Architecture, as ar-
chitect; LMC Construction, as
the general contractor; Housing
Development Center as develop-
ment consultant; and Jeana Wool-
ley of JM Woolley & Associates
as owner’s representative.
