Oregon Symphony at the Zoo
The Oregon Symphony’s first performance
of its new season will occur Saturday, Sept. 2
at 7 p.m. with its first-ever performance at the
Oregon Zoo, a fitting start to a season entitled
“A New Dimension.”
The outdoor atmosphere and the evening air
surrounded by wildlife will be the perfect set-
ting for this concert conducted by Oregon Sym-
phony Music Director Carlos Kalmar.
The two-hour program will feature block-
buster selections of familiar, crowd-pleasing
classical works, with one intermission. The per-
formance will come to an exciting conclusion
with Tchaikovsky’s rousing 1812 Overture.
In the event of inclement weather, Saturday’s
tickets will be valid for a rescheduled Oregon
Symphony concert at the Oregon Zoo on Tues-
day, Sept. 5.
