tion, Innovation and Social Justice
for San Francisco’s Mission Dis-
trict. Guerrero also led the school
improvement effort and with his
leadership, the graduation rate has
gone up the last 6 years. Guerrero
said in a statement released by the
school board: “I am excited to work
shoulder-to-shoulder with every-
one in Portland on a student-cen-
tered and equity –focused effort to
make Portland Public Schools the
premier school system in the coun-
try. Our students and our commu-
nity deserve nothing less.”
