Exploring Black Cinema
Featuring films by visionaries, rebels and pioneers willing to tell it like it is, the NW Film Center at the
Portland Art Museum hosts a black cinema series over the next three months in conjunction with the
museum’s African American exhibit “Constructing Identity.” The film series opens with a showing of
Spike Lee’s 2000 classic ‘Bamboozled’ with showings at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, April

Exploring Every Nook and Cranny
Sassy, a young mountain goat nanny from Calgary, Alberta, is getting accustomed to her new home
in the rocky Cascade Crest habitat at the Oregon Zoo. Since making her debut last month, she’s been
“exploring every nook and cranny,” said Julie Christie, senior keeper for the North America section.
