A Black History Retrospective
Beaverton City Library
will host “Who I Am—Cele-
brating Me: A Black History
Retrospective” on Saturday,
Feb. 11, from 2 to 3 p.m. at
12375 S.W. Fifth St.
Local playwright Shalan-
da Sims, with a community
of youth and adult artists,
will educate the audience
about the hardships and
triumphs of unsung Afri- Shalanda Sims
can-American heroes with
a masterful production that
employs song, dance, imag-
ery and spoken word.
The performance will be
followed by a conversation
with the actors and the play-
wright. Sims is a member of
the American Guild of Mu-
sical Artists and the Actors’
Equity Association.
This program is open to
the public; no registration is
