Native regalia, song and dance showcase Native American heritage in a community celebration that will be repeated this Saturday at Vancouver’s Water
Resources Education Center.
Native American Heritage Month
The public is invited to celebrate
Native American Heritage Month
and recognize the many contribu-
tions of Native Americans to our
cultural mosaic at a free community
event featuring native regalia, song,
dance and other activities on Satur-
day, Nov. 12 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the
Vancouver Water Resources Edu-
cation Center, 4600 S.E. Columbia
Way.
Kids and families will have the
opportunity to hear about the Urban
Native Community Network, view
a 30-foot Chinook cedar canoe,
called Itsxut, the Bear, listen to sto-
ries of recent canoe journeys, play
native games of skill and chance
and paint feathers and enjoy other
hands-on activities.
