Community
Portland Parks and Recreation will host a free multicultural celebration at
Washington Park featuring the Norman Sylvester Review Band and other favorite local performers. The Thursday, Aug. 4 concert will take place from 6 p.m.
to 8 p.m. as part of PP&R’s “Summer Free for All” program that brings free music and arts to our local parks and helps make Portland such a great place
to live. Joining Sylvester, a Portland icon for playing the Blues for over 30 years, will be bandmates Rob Shoemaker, Paul Shoemaker, Jeff Otto, Peter Moss, and
Aiden Donohue and his daughter Lenanne Sylvester-Miller. Other performers taking stage for the event include Jay “Bird” Koder (Blues), Bloco Alegria (Brazilian
dance troupe), Richard Arnold (Jazz), Chata Addy (African drumming), and LaRhonda Steele family (Gospel).
