Rose Festival CityFair --
The Rose Festival’s CityFair
brings all the fun of an amusement
park right down to the Tom McCall Wa-
terfront, with park rides, fair games and much more
to be enjoyed by children and adults. Gates reopen
for the next two extended weekends, Thursday, June
2 through Sunday, June 5 and again Thursday, June
9 through Sunday, June 12.

Barbeque Fundraiser -- The Af-
rican American Men’s Club hosts a
barbeque dinner to raise donations for scholarships,
Saturday, June 4 from noon to 6 p.m. Cost is $15 for
a choice of rib or chicken dinner with two sides of
potato salad, coleslaw or green beans, also includ-

Rose Festival Parades -- Become encapsulated
with beautifully ordained loats and take in all the
community excitement of three upcoming Rose
Festival parades. The Starlight Parade, downtown,
takes place Saturday, June 4, beginning at 8:30 p.m.
The Junior Parade is Wednesday, June 8 at 1 p.m.in
the Hollywood District of northeast Portland; and
the Grand Floral Parade is Saturday, June 11, start-
ing at 10 a.m. from the Rose Quarter to downtown.

Fourth Sunday Jam Night -- A friends and fam-
ily variety comedy show in a Saturday Night Live
format with local recording and performing artists,
bands, dance crews, poets, and drama groups, takes
place each fourth Sunday of the month at 7 p.m. at
Celebration Tabernacle, 8131 N. Denver Ave. The
free event is open to the community.

cal musical performances in Portland as part of a
unique program called Music for All. Participating
