Legendary Gospel titans The Blind Boys of Alabama perform Friday, May 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.

When the legendary Gospel titans The
Blind Boys of Alabama perform, it’s a
roof-raising musical event. Their soaring
voices and powerful energy have been
thrilling crowds around the world for de-
cades.
Stronger than ever, the ive-time
Grammy Award winners will be in Port-
land to perform Friday, May 13 at 7:30
p.m. at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert
Hall.
The concert can be counted on for a
truly uplifting experience. Since the orig-
inal members irst sang together as kids
at the Alabama Institute for the Negro
Blind in the late 1930s (including Jimmy
Carter, who leads the group today), the
band has perserved to become one of the
most recognized and decorated roots mu-
sic groups in the world.
