Warner Pacific Jazz Con-
cert -- Five local jazz artists
come together to form the Den-
nis Plies Jazz Quintet and present a
public concert with the music of Duke
Ellington, Howard Whitaker, Antonio Carlos Jo-
bim, Lennon and McCartney and more. The event is
Sunday, April 3 at 3 p.m. at Warner Pacific College’s
McGuire Auditorium, 2219 S.E. 68th Ave. Admis-
sion is a suggested $10 donation at the door.

presents “Smoldering Fires,” a play by Kermit Fra-
zier that allows us to view the world through the
eyes and spirit of our youth. Friday and Saturday
shows at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday shows at 3 p.m.
Auto Swap Meet -- The
11th annual Portland In-
ternational Raceway Auto
Swap Meet will feature five miles
of automotive-related gear from more
than 1,500 vendors. The event takes place on the
PIR racetrack at 1940 N. Victory Blvd., Thursday,
March 31 through April 2 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
daily. Admission is $7 per day. Parking is $10 per
day, or ride the MAX Yellow Line which stops just
outside PIR.
Norman Sylvester -- Boogie Cat Norman Sylves-
ter and his band plays Saturday, April 2 at the Fat
Moose in Woodland; Friday, April 8 at the Half Pen-
ny in Salem; Saturday, April 9 at the Spare Room;
and Saturday, April 16 at 6 p.m. at the Inner City
Blues Festival at the North Portland Eagles Lodge,
7611 N. Exeter.
Fourth Sunday Jam Night -- A friends and fam-
ily variety comedy show in a Saturday Night Live
format with local recording and performing artists,
bands, dance crews, poets, and drama groups, takes
place each fourth Sunday of the month at 7 p.m. at
Celebration Tabernacle, 8131 N. Denver Ave. The
free event is open to the community.
Discount Tickets -- Local low-income families
and individuals can purchase $5 tickets to classi-
cal musical performances in Portland as part of a
unique program called Music for All. Participating
organizations include the Oregon Symphony, Port-
land Opera, Oregon Ballet Theater, Chamber Music
Northwest, Portland Youth Philharmonic, Portland
Baroque Orchestra, Friends of Chamber Music,
Portland Chamber Orchestra, Portland Piano Inter-
national, Portland Symphonic Choir, Cappella Ro-
mana and Portland Vocal Consort.
