Ban the Box
March 18 – A proposed new ordinance that would help people
find work again by preventing employers from considering a job
candidate’s criminal history during the initial application and inter-
view process gains support in Portland.
Bridging Cultures
March 25 – Lee Po Cha, one
of the founding members
of Portland’s Coalition of
Communities of Color, and a
longtime advocate for provid-
ing culturally special services
to Portland’s immigrants and
refugees, is named the new
executive director of the Im-
migrant and Refugee Commu-
nity Organization (IRCO.)
