Festival Holiday Tradition -- Oregon Ballet
Theatre combines all the talent of its company
and school to return George Balanchine’s popu-
lar version of ‘The Nutcracker,’ to Keller Audi-
torium, a festive holiday tradition of shows now
playing through Dec. 26. Many of the perfor-

dren can explore the science of sound at “Blue
Man Group Making Waves,’’ a national touring

Winter Camps Connect Kids to Wildlife --
Winter break is a great time for kids to connect
with nature and explore the wild realms of the
Oregon Zoo. The zoo’s winter camps for chil-
dren in kindergarten through fourth grade are
held Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 28-31. Space is lim-

family variety comedy show in a Saturday
Night Live format with local recording and per-

to the community.
Discount Tickets -- Local low-income fam-
ilies and individuals can purchase $5 tickets
to classical musical performances in Portland
as part of a unique program called Music for
All. Participating organizations include the Or-
egon Symphony, Portland Opera, Oregon Ballet
Theater, Chamber Music Northwest, Portland
Youth Philharmonic, Portland Baroque Orches-
tra, Friends of Chamber Music, Portland Cham-
ber Orchestra, Portland Piano International,
Portland Symphonic Choir, Cappella Romana
and Portland Vocal Consort.
