Heart and Soul of Flamenco
White Bird presents the return
of Soledad Barrio and her Noche
Flamenco dance company, one
of the most authentic flamenco
touring groups in the field today.
Shows are scheduled Thursday,
Dec. 3 through Saturday, Dec. 5 at
the Newmark Theatre, downtown.
The star of the program is
Soledad Barrio, a performer the
New York Times calls “one of the
great dancers of any genre,” and a
person who critics say brings es-
sence, purity, and integrity to one
of the world’s most complex and
mysterious art forms.
The Noche Flamenca compa-
ny is also composed of dancers
Marina Elana, Laura Peralta, and
Xianix Barrera, guitarist Salva De
Maria, and singers Manuel Gago
and Emilio Florido.
Tickets start at $26 and are

S.W. Broadway. Shows begin
each night at 7:30 p.m.

The Clackamas Repertory
Theatre continues its second sea-
son of interactive shows for chil-
dren with two holiday-themed
Saturday performances Dec. 5
and Dec. 12 at 10:30 a.m. in the
Osterman Theatre at Clackamas
Community College.
“Wing It,” loosely based on
Charles Dickens’ “A Christ-
mas Carol,” has Jazz, the squir-
rel, acting a little “Scroogey”
when he is visited by the
Ghost of Christmas Future.
The children in the audience
will help the other characters get
Jazz back in the Christmas spirit
with singing and dancing and a
chance to come up to the stage
for their moment in the spotlight.
Word is Santa will be in the au-
dience!
“Wing It,” is geared for chil-
dren 2 to 10 years old and is de-
veloped and directed by Travis
Nodurft, Clackamas Rep compa-
ny member, professional clown
and Oregon City sixth-grade
teacher. Admission is a suggest-
ed $5 donation at the door.
