Exploring Zoo’s Cascade Crest
Honovi, a 5-year-old mountain goat, is one of the newest arrivals to the Oregon
Zoo’s Cascade Crestt. He was born at the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and trans-
ferred to Portland to provide a companion for Montane, a female mountain goat
who was rescued by Idaho wildlife officials and given a home here in 2009.

Kenyan born singer and songwriter Naomi
Wachira will perform a solo acoustic show at
the Walters Cultural Arts Center in Hillsboro
on Friday, Oct. 23 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are on
sale now for $14 in advance and $18 day of

office.
Lauded as “Best Folk Singer” in Seattle by
Seattle Weekly, and recently returning from a
whirlwind tour of the US, Europe and Africa,
Wachira will share an evening of songs and
stories with a passionate voice – and a brilliant
musical talent.
Always knowing she wanted to be a singer,
Wachira grew up singing with her parents. Her
family moved from Kenya to Chicago where
she spent 11 years. She then moved to the
Northwest to attend the Seattle School of The-
ology + Psychology.
The Walters Cultural Arts Center is located
