Polish Festival -- Delicious Polish food and imported Polish beer are
two highlights of the annual Polish Festival taking place Saturday,
Sept. 19, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 20, from noon to 6
p.m., between the historic Polish Library and St. Stanislaus Church in
north Portland. The free event also includes music and dance stage per-
formances, a polka contest on Saturday and a street dance on Sunday.
Portland’s Saturday Market -- Portland Saturday Market in Old
Town brings some of Oregon’s best handmade products, good eats and
live entertainment from street musicians and other artists. Located next
to the Willamette River at 2 S.W. Naito Parkway, Saturday Market is
also open every Sunday through Christmas Eve.
Patti LaBelle at the Schnitzer -- Legendary soul
vocalist Patti LaBelle will perform Sunday, Sept. 20

Slabtown Community Festival -- The annual Slabtown festival in
northwest Portland opens with a grand parade on Saturday, Sept. 19 at
11 a.m., starting at the Slabtown New Seasons Market and proceeding

Northwest Library lot at Northwest 23rd and Thurman Street.

part of a unique program called Music for All. Participating organi-
