Transitional youth rehearse for the production ‘Maybe It’s Because…(I’m So
Versatile).
Homeless Youth Stories
Creative mentoring
brings production
A new performance is hitting Portland this
weekend. “Maybe It’s Because…(I’m So Ver-
satile)” is a performance piece written and per-
formed by homeless and transitional youth.
The number of youth in Portland without a
permanent home is growing every year. Well
Arts, a Portland-based organization focused on
promoting health and wellbeing through writing
for theater, teamed up with p:ear, a transitional
youth organization, to help local youth cope with
their situation.
Portland audiences will walk away from the
performance with greater awareness and knowl-
edge of ways to help and interact with this tight-
knit community.
You’re invited to take in the show on Saturday,
Jan. 31 or Sunday, Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. at p:ear, 338
N.W. Sixth Ave. in the Old Town district.
Tickets run $10 for general admission and $7
for seniors, students, and children under 18. For
more information or to purchase tickets online,
