Members of the Portland Princess organization participate in their coronation
ceremony.
Building Healthy Self Esteem
The Portland Princess organization held their
coronation on Sunday at the Billy Webbs Elks
Lodge.
These young ladies worked on being at their
best at all times. They attended sessions to learn
etiquette walking with poise, and speaking with
clarity.
The organization’s mission is to help young
girls acquire a set of skills, experiences, relation-
ships, and behaviors to enable them to develop
into successful and contributing adults.
Adult coordinators Netty McKenzie and Sharith
McKenzie said it’s all about getting our youth
socially and emotionally well prepared for life,
while promoting confidence, inner beauty and
building a healthy self-esteem.
