“Go Figure!” is a new travelling
exhibit that introduces early math
concepts through kids-sized envi
ronments and familiar children’s
books.
Using popular children’s books
such as Arthur's Pet Business, The
Doorbell Rang and Goldilocks and
The Three Bears, children and
caregivers are engaged with materi
als that show how math impacts our
everyday lives. Presented in English
and Spanish, “Go Figure” is now on
view at the World Forestry Center
Discovery Museum through Feb. 1.
T hroughout this discovery-
filled exhibit, the popular children’s
books are brought to life in over
sized reproductions of the artists’
original illustrations. Inside each
large-scale book, visitors find an
attached copy of the featured book,
a math based interactive relating to
the book’s narrative, and tips for
parents on supporting their child’s
early explorations of math concepts.
Comfortable rugs, seating areas,
and plenty of books in both Spanish
and English complete the experi
ence so visitors can stay a while,
relax, and have some fun learning!
Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for
seniors and $6 from children ages 3-
18.
