Enrichment items such as pump kins help keep the zoo’s animals mentally and physically engaged. The zoo is offering an evening event just for kids on Saturday night. Zoo lovers ages 6-13 can come in costume to explore the mysteries of the zoo at night, with a guided safari and visits to the animal hospital and kitchens. Games, treats and a costume pa rade round out the fun night, which also includes dinner. Halloween Safari runs from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. , m anH .„ . ‘Howloween’ event for learning and fun Trick-or-treaters can fill their bags with goodies and learn about wildlife Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25-26, during “Howloween” at the Oregon Zoo. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day and is free with zoo admission. In keeping with the zoo’s mis sion, Howloween aims to be edu cational as well as fun. An intrigu ing scavenger hunt directs trick- or-treaters to easily accessible activity stations throughout the zoo.
