Lin J. Hendler, a manager o f her own private law
practice, is an Adult Congenital Heart Defect Survivor
and fancies herself one of the few lawyers in her 30's
who has survived two open heart surgeries.
It was these experiences that drive her passion to
work for those fighting the same battles she has. As
a lawyer, Hendler serves on the Multnomah Bar
Association's Committee for Equality and Diversity.
She is also on the executive board of Oregon State
Bar's disability section.
She feels fortunate to work in Social Security dis­
ability and with clients whose struggles resonate with
her experiences.
Hendler is mixed race herself and brings her
multicultural experience to her practice. She is sensi­
tive to cultural issues in a primarily white male driven
practice. Her mother moved to the United States at age
14 and consequently, Hendler is sensitive to clients
who need interpreters or who have difficulty under­
standing complex legal issues.
