The Urban League of Portland is seeking a President/CEO to
champion its organizational mission dedicated to advancing equity
and opportunity for African Americans and others throughout Oregon.
The desired candidate will bring success in garnering community
and donor support of programs and revenue, with proven ability to
inspire confidence among staff, board, donors, and clients by actions
and results The Urban League of Portland President/CEO works
collaboratively with diverse constituents to advance the work and
resources of the organization. A dynamic ability to represent the
League as an ambassador and advocate, and bringing established
communications skills, is imperative.
POSITION SUMMARY
The President and Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of
Portland serves as the League’s ambassador to both the public and
the staff, with oversight by the Board of Directors. The President/
CEO demonstrates proven ability to lead, and inspire collaborations
that support and advance the overall mission of the Urban League.
A successful record of creating and maintaining strong relationships
and p a rtn ersh ip with the public; local, state and national
governments; corporations and media is key. The President/CEO is
the administrator of the overall operations of the Urban League,
working closely with a management team in guiding them in oversight
of the daily operations. The President/CEO works in collaboration
with the Board, staff and stakeholders in creating and communicating
the organizations vision and mission, acts as the fiscal steward, and
is the champion for all programs and partnerships.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s Degree required in business administration, public/health
a d m in istra tio n , e d u ca tion , so cia l work, hum an resources,
administration finance or related discipline. Special consideration
given to advanced degree.
Five years relevant experience with proven success in the areas of:
business administration; personnel management and development;
stra te gic p la nning and execution; Fiscal m anagem ent and
fundraising; program administration and development; Non-profit
leadership on non-profit board or commission.
Salary Range: $75,000-$100,000 commensurate with experience
