day, A ug. 23.

W elcom e W eekend is a tim e o f
transition for all new students. T hey
are leaving the com forts o f hom e
and stepping into a new and d iffer­
ent w orld. T he activities and in fo r­
m ative sessions offered during this
first official w eekend are designed
to engage students in new frien d ­
ships, answ er questions, alleviate
anxiety, and build anticipation for
their first class.
Students w ill also be introduced
to the co lle g e ’s four core them es:
C hrist-centered, urban, diverse, and
liberal-arts.
W hile W arn er P acific’s new stu­
dents co m e from all o v er the Port-
lan d -m etro area and the P acific
N o rth w est as w ell as from across
the country and w orld, they all b e ­
com e K nights on S aturday evening.
D uring a tim e-honored tradition full
o f pageantry, Dr. A ndrea Cook, presi­
dent o f W arn er P acific C ollege, be­
stow s the title o f K night on each
and every new student.
W arner Pacific recognizes and
